Artist Statement

After mainly working with abstraction for many years, my focus has now shifted to more figurative work in direct response to the social isolation of the pandemic.

My work is driven in equal measure by a fascination with the materials themselves, and a desire to process and respond to life experiences. Recent themes of identity and isolation are explored through the physicality of paint, often taking the form of self portraiture.
