Artist Statement
My work is driven by an interest in the physical properties of materials and surfaces, the act of painting itself, and a need to process and respond to personal and collective experiences and narratives. Recent work explores themes of identity, isolation, spirituality, religion, the body and recovery (both individual and collective), often in the context of the natural world.
My current practice focuses on ideas surrounding bathing, cleansing, water-based rituals and historical associations and mythologies of women and water.
